The good news is that Notepad++ is now (unofficially) available as a Snap package for Linux users. This is why Linux users have had to settle for Notepad++ alternatives. The problem with Notepad++ is that it’s exclusive to the Windows platform and the developer has repeatedly refused to develop it for Linux. No Encryption by Defaultīy default, Notepad’s text files aren’t encrypted or secured in any way. With Notepad++, for example, you can even perform powerful find-and-replace actions across many note files at once. Otherwise, if you use an app like OneNote or Notepad++, you can easily search for content between note files.
